Job summary

Pomeroy Recreation and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Program Leader II (CYS) to support individuals with disabilities under the supervision of the CYS Program Manager. This temporary part-time role involves planning, leading growth activities, and providing direct instruction and support to participants in various settings.

The position emphasizes safety, individualized planning, and collaboration with staff, interns, and volunteers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• CA: 24 units in psychology/sociology/special education + 16 GE units + 400 hours experience with children with disabilities, OR California Special Education Credential.
• One year of related experience and/or training with individuals with disabilities; Four years general paid work experience or an equivalent combination.
• Proficiency with MS Office; FileMaker; ability to work independently and as a team; criminal record clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, support, and supervision to individuals served in various activities.
• Apply appropriate teaching strategies for individuals served.
• Ensure safety of individuals in facility and community activities.
• Assist with daily living activities (eating, toileting, hygiene, dressing).
• Provide physical assistance including transfers and wheelchair handling.
• Develop and implement Individual Service Plans and related goals.
• Plan and evaluate social, vocational, recreational activities and outings.
• Maintain records, attend meetings, and assist with staff training.
