Job summary

Glacial Community YMCA seeks a part-time team member to support adults with disabilities in our Service without Boundaries program. You will assist participants in games, crafts, social skills, and community-based outings, providing care and program leadership in a safe, nurturing environment that fosters physical, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of program content and ability to instruct others with modifications per participant abilities.
• Interest in working with individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities.
• Willingness to learn best practices for working with individuals with disabilities.
• Certifications must be obtained within first 90 days: CPR, AED, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communication.
• Willingness to attend meetings, training, and obtain additional certification as requested.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants in games, crafts, social skills, and community-based outings.
• Provide appropriate care and program leadership in a safe, nurturing environment promoting growth.
• Lead classes and activities as directed by program staff.
