Job summary

Airgas Geismar is seeking a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) to safely handle high-pressure cylinders and prepare outbound shipments in Geismar, LA. The role requires reading and following detailed documentation, and forklift operation with certification is preferred.

Applicants must be able to perform very heavy work, with occasional lifts over 100 lbs with assistive devices, and must be eligible to work in the U.S. Airgas offers comprehensive benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform very heavy work, lifting 25–75 lbs routinely and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
• Ability to read and comprehend all written and computer-generated documents.
• Forklift operation capability and certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-pressure and liquid gas cylinders safely and in compliance with standards.
• Prepare outbound shipments for delivery trucks according to Airgas and governmental requirements.
• Verify truck inventory, inspect and replace straps on pallets, and report daily shipment status.
• Coordinate gases and cylinder sizes on pallets to optimize load size.
• Sort incoming empty cylinders by size and gas group.
• Maintain a safe work environment by understanding cylinder hazards and labels.
• Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
