Job summary

Airgas Geismar, LA is hiring a Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) to safely handle high‑pressure cylinders, load/unload shipments, and prepare outbound orders in compliance with federal, state and Airgas procedures. This role requires lifting 25–75 lbs routinely and the ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred).

Candidates must read and understand all documentation, work in a safety‑minded environment, and collaborate with team members to keep deliveries on schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend all written documentation.
• Able to perform very heavy work (25–75 lbs routinely; 76+ lbs with aid).
• Must be able to operate a forklift and become forklift certified.
• Knowledge of safety procedures when handling high‑pressure cylinders.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload high‑pressure and liquid gas cylinders on/off trucks.
• Prepare outbound shipments and verify truck inventory.
• Inspect straps on pallets and report shipment status daily.
• Organize cylinders and gas groups on pallets to minimize load size.
• Maintain a safe work environment by reading cylinder labels and color codes.
