Cylinder Shop Assistant (Cylinder trim, hole cutting, tee trim)

Position Summary

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings with over 70 years of experience serving the oil and gas industry. We are seeking a Cylinder Shop Assistant to perform various duties in our cylinder/pipe department.

Duties and Requirements:

• Read a tape measure
• Use a cutting torch
• Read a blueprint
• Stamp a heat code on a cylinder
• Perform other tasks throughout the shop as assigned by the supervisor
• Maintain a strong work ethic and take ownership of duties
• Operate a forklift
• Display a team-first attitude
• Be punctual and reliable
• Willingness to learn and acquire new skills as necessary

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing, and other active movements
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment
• Work in temperature zones that may include hot environments and dusty conditions
