Job summary

YMCA of the Suncoast is seeking a Part-time Group Exercise Instructor at the John Geigle North Pinellas Branch. You will lead safe, engaging group classes such as cycling and HIIT, ensure equipment is ready and maintained, and uphold YMCA safety guidelines.

The role requires CPR/AED/First Aid within 90 days, completion of YMCA training within 90 days, and the ability to motivate participants across skill levels.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Able to teach at least one safe, effective group exercise format.
• Complete required trainings within 90 days of hire.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid must be completed within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepares room and equipment before class to start on time.
• Choreography and music selection per YMCA guidelines.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment and report suspicions per policy.
• Maintain equipment and keep facility clean and organized.
• Demonstrate safe execution and follow emergency procedures.
• Maintain professional conduct and appropriate dress on duty.
• Cover assigned classes and participate in trainings/promotions.
