Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Materials Coordinator to supervise materials associates, pull parts, and ensure timely delivery to production lines. The role requires following work orders, accurate measurement and material handling, and strong communication on two-way radios.

No prior experience is required; training will be provided, including orientation and several days on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, & verbal skills required.
• Prior experience in materials handling is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow work orders and labels.
• Move and manipulate materials and supplies.
• Ensure tape measure accuracy.

Position Description:

This position will report to the Materials Manager. The Coordinator will supervise the materials associates that are responsible for pulling parts and bringing the parts to the production lines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and follow work orders and labels
• Moving and manipulation of various materials and supplies
• Tape measure accuracy
• Communication skills – two way radio
• Read and sign for materials
• Basic math skills for inventory reporting
• Work independently
• Computer proficiency – AS400, Word, Excel

Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Basic reading, writing, & verbal skills

Knowledge, Training, Skills and/or Experience:

Experience and education are a plus; however, it’s not required. Wabash provides training for all assembler positions. Upon receiving an offer letter from us, you’ll undergo orientation and several days of training, preparing you for the production floor.

Physical Demands:

As an Materials Coordinator, you are regularly required to stand, walk, lean, push, climb, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, handle, and operate tools or controls for the entirety of their shift. The employee needs full range of motion in arms and hands, all Materials Coordinators must be able to successfully communicate with fellow employees as well. Some employees also work in small spaces throughout their shift and frequently lift and/or carry objects weighting up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, along with good hand-eye coordination.
