Job summary

Commercial Vehicle Group, Inc. (CVG) is seeking a Cycle Counter to perform daily, weekly, and monthly counts of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to ensure inventory accuracy in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of inventory control or cycle counting experience in manufacturing or warehouse.
  • Experience with inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular cycle counts per schedule and document results.
  • Reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
  • Investigate variances with relevant departments to identify root causes.
  • Update inventory records after counts are verified.
  • Assist with physical inventories during audits.
  • Ensure inventory areas are organized and labeled for ease of counting.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, shortages, and excesses.
  • Follow safety and quality procedures and communicate issues to supervisors.
  • Support continuous improvement of inventory accuracy and material flow.

Job description

The Cycle Counter is responsible for performing daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of raw materials, work‑in‑process (WIP), and finished goods to ensure inventory accuracy in a manufacturing environment. This role works closely with production, warehouse, and inventory teams to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and support continuous improvement of inventory control processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts according to the schedule and document all results accurately.
  • Compare physical inventory to system records (ERP or WMS) and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Investigate inventory variances and work with relevant departments to identify root causes.
  • Update inventory records in the system after counts are verified.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts during quarterly or annual audits.
  • Ensure inventory areas are organized and properly labeled for ease of counting.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, shortages, and excesses.
  • Follow established safety and quality procedures in all job functions.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding inventory issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and material flow.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing or warehouse environment. May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise levels, and machinery. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

This position operates within a manufacturing plant environment. The role involves interactions with employees and managers. The job requires repetitive assembly, standing, and ability to lift to 40 pounds.
