Job summary

NAVWAR in San Diego seeks a cybersecurity and systems engineering professional to support planning, coordination, and execution of cybersecurity assessments for Navy IT systems. You will collaborate across Navy and program offices to provide assessment guidance throughout the system life cycle.

Responsibilities include analyzing risks and capabilities, supporting certifications and risk assessments, and helping define proficiency standards for the Navy cybersecurity workforce.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience at or equivalent to GS-11/NO-02 in cybersecurity and systems engineering.
• Integrating cybersecurity and systems engineering processes and review of evidence.
• Experience supporting certification or cybersecurity risk assessments at system or enclave level.
• Strong attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of cybersecurity assessment processes for Navy IT systems.
• Work across Navy, cross-SYSCOM, PAE MS and PMOs to provide assessment support throughout the system life-cycle.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including OPNAV, NAVIFOR, FCC, NAVAIR, NAVSEA, NAVFAC, and NAVSUP on cybersecurity matters.
• Apply theories and concepts related to systems engineering in an engineering/operational environment.
• Analyze technical risks, capabilities, reliability, maintainability, and affordability of each system and mission thread.
• Provide technical and non-technical system security assessments to support certifications and risk assessments.
• Verify selection, prioritization, and gradation of critical components for Navy IT systems.
• Support development and implementation of proficiency standards for Navy cybersecurity workforce.
