Job summary

Digital Guru is seeking a Cybersecurity Support Technician to monitor our networks for security issues, install and maintain security software, and document any breaches. The ideal candidate stays current on cybersecurity threats and has a solid understanding of computer networks and systems.

You will investigate incidents, test protections, apply patches, train staff on security procedures, and prepare reports of audit findings and remediation plans.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Support Technician or in a similar role.
• Experience with network penetration testing techniques.
• Working knowledge of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
• Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities — and explain how to prevent them.
• Experience with multi-factor authentication tools (e.g., Duo).
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience with SentinelOne.
• Understanding of patch management, with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner.
• Cyber incident response experience.
• Professional certification in cybersecurity (such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP) is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor computer systems and networks for security issues and breaches.
• Investigate and document security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
• Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure.
• Test company software, firmware, and firewalls to keep them current and secure.
• Help develop security standards and best practices for the organization.
• Train associates on network and data security procedures and best practices.
• Respond to system and network security breaches.
• Run diagnostic tests to identify vulnerabilities, then patch or update systems as needed.
• Prepare reports documenting security audit findings and remediation strategies.
• Recommend modifications in legal, technical, and regulatory areas affecting IT security.
