BBVA in New York invites motivated students to join the cybersecurity internship, gaining hands-on exposure to the day-to-day security operations and incident handling. You will work with mentors on data collection, analysis, escalation processes, and learn how security controls are implemented and maintained across the business.

You will assist with event assessment, reporting, and remediation, while building practical experience in threat detection, triage, and the use of security tools.

Qualifikationen

• Successful completion of undergraduate coursework in cybersecurity or reputable program.
• Fundamental knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
• Hands-on coursework experience with cybersecurity tools and lab environments.
• Basic understanding of Windows, Unix, Linux OS and networking concepts.
• Ability to analyze event and incident logs with SOC/IR teams.
• Introductory knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure and operations.
• Basic exposure to scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).

Aufgaben

• Follow directives from cybersecurity management and senior staff.
• Support day-to-day cybersecurity team activities.
• Learn to manage tools and solutions implemented across the organization.
• Work with senior team members to learn first-line threat assessment and response tasks.
• Execute tasks such as analysis, investigation, reporting and maintenance of cybersecurity upkeep.
• Monitor dashboards and event logs with escalation to team members.
• Attain proficiency with cybersecurity tools and front-end troubleshooting.
• Read daily cybersecurity resources to stay current on threats and vulnerabilities.
• Participate in mock threat exercises to strengthen skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
