Job summary

Pima Community College seeks a Cybersecurity Assistant Director to lead enterprise security program efforts, including incident response, risk management, and policy development. The role requires working with IT leadership, mentoring staff, and guiding major security initiatives to protect institutional data and assets.

The position may require flexible hours, including evenings/weekends and local travel, with on‑call rotation duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a closely related field.
• Three to five years of related experience.
• One to three years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Arizona driver license.
• An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Preferred: Five plus years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages cybersecurity personnel and security operations, including incident response.
• Oversees security administration across network, endpoint, server and cloud environments.
• Leads complex incident response activities including investigation and recovery.
• Manages identity and access management and data protection controls.
• Configures and oversees enterprise cybersecurity infrastructure (firewalls, SIEM, automation).
• Leads vulnerability management and continuous security monitoring.
• Develops cybersecurity procedures and controls for resilience and continuity.
• Serves as senior technical resource to the CISO and IT leadership.
• Develops and administers enterprise-wide cybersecurity training.
• Leads projects from requirements to implementation and transition.
• Participates in cybersecurity budgets and resource planning.
