Job summary

Thompson Gray Inc. seeks a cybersecurity specialist for an Army program office to develop security documentation and ensure compliance with DoD regulations and AT0s for information systems.

The role focuses on RMF, CNSSI 1253 categorization, and NIST SP 800-53 controls, coordinating with ISMs, ISSMs, and NEC to keep servers operational while protecting PII.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an IT related field.
• 5 years general MIS and/or cybersecurity experience.
• Existing SECRET security clearance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite products.
• Experience supporting or working in an Army Program/Product office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop RMF documentation to meet FISMA 2014 requirements.
• Categorize a webserver in accordance with CNSSI 1253.
• Implement security controls from NIST SP 800-53.
• Document RMF requirements with ISMs and ISSEs.
• Develop and implement standardized policies for control families.
• Coordinate with NEC to ensure production servers are operational.
• Perform privacy impact analysis to protect PII.

Job Description

The selected candidate will work as a cyber security specialist at an Army program office. The cybersecurity specialist will support the program office in developing security documentation and procedures in coordination with both internal and external agencies to insure compliance with Department of Defense (DOD) regulations and to obtain Authorizations To Operate (ATOs) for information systems operated by the office.

Duties will include

• Developing Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation to fulfill the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) 2014 requirements
• Categorizing a webserver(s) in accordance to the Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253
• Implementing security controls from NIST SP 800-53
• Working directly with the Information System Owners and ISSM to document the requirements for RMF
• Developing and implementing standardized policies and procedures for the control families identified for implementation
• Working with the local Network Enterprise Center (NEC) to ensure the production servers are operational
• Performing privacy impact analysis to ensure Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is not compromised
