Job summary

Thompson Gray is seeking a cyber security specialist to support an Army program office onsite in Huntsville. The role focuses on developing security documentation and RMF artifacts to align with DoD regulations and obtain ATOs for information systems.

Responsibilities include implementing NIST SP 800-53 controls, CNSSI 1253 categorizations, and collaboration with ISSEs, System Owners, and NEC to keep servers running while protecting PII. A SECRET clearance and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT-related field.
• 5 years MIS/cybersecurity experience.
• Existing SECRET clearance is required.
• Strong communication and independent work ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop RMF documentation to fulfill FISMA requirements.
• Categorize webservers per CNSSI 1253.
• Implement security controls from NIST SP 800-53.
• Collaborate with ISSM and System Owners to document RMF requirements.
• Develop and implement standardized security policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with NEC to ensure production servers are operational.
• Perform privacy impact analyses to protect PII.

Job Description

The selected candidate will work as a cyber security specialist at an Army program office. The cybersecurity specialist will support the program office in developing security documentation and procedures in coordination with both internal and external agencies to insure compliance with Department of Defense (DOD) regulations and to obtain Authorizations To Operate (ATOs) for information systems operated by the office.

Duties Will Include

• Developing Risk Management Framework (RMF) documentation to fulfill the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) 2014 requirements
• Categorizing a webserver(s) in accordance to the Committee on National Security Systems Instruction (CNSSI) 1253
• Implementing security controls from NIST SP 800-53
• Working directly with the Information System Owners and ISSM to document the requirements for RMF
• Developing and implementing standardized policies and procedures for the control families identified for implementation
• Working with the local Network Enterprise Center (NEC) to ensure the production servers are operational
• Performing privacy impact analysis to ensure Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is not compromised

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an IT related field
• 5 years general Management Information Systems and/or cybersecurity experience
• Existing SECRET security clearance
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite products
• Experience supporting or working in an Army Program/Product office preferred
