Archer, in collaboration with MANTECH, seeks a Cybersecurity Software Engineer to join our team in Linthicum Heights, MD. The role focuses on cryptographic solutions for national security and protecting networked systems.

You will design, implement, and test software across cross‑platform environments, applying low‑level networking, cryptography, and secure computing principles to deliver high‑assurance solutions for the IC and DoD programs.

Qualifications

• 14+ years in software engineering, testing, or software-focused cyber roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced engineering, cybersecurity analysis, and cryptographic solutions to enhance security posture, testing, and certification of IC-deployed products.
• Drive innovation in data protection, high-assurance encryption, and secure computing architecture for national security infrastructure.
• Perform software design and functional programming while authoring unit, integration, and system-level test suites.
• Develop software using multi-paradigm programming languages and standard data formats.
• Build and maintain applications across cross-platform desktop/server environments using modern IDEs, containerization, deployment pipelines, and network tools.
• Apply deep domain knowledge of low-level network protocols and cryptographic principles to software development tasks.

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Cybersecurity Software Engineer to join our team in Linthicum Heights, MD.

This role protects secure systems by providing expert engineering support for the Cryptographic Solutions Program and MPO's network security products.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

• Provide advanced engineering, cybersecurity analysis, and cryptographic solutions to enhance the security posture, testing, and certification of products deployed across the the Intelligence Community (IC).
• Drive innovation in data protection, high-assurance encryption, and secure computing architecture to safeguard modern national security infrastructure.
• Perform software design and functional programming while authoring robust unit, integration, and system-level test suites.
• Develop software using multi-paradigm programming languages, functional design principles, and standard data-interchange and markup formats.
• Build and maintain applications across cross-platform desktop and server environments using modern IDEs, containerization, deployment pipelines, and network tools.
• Apply deep domain knowledge of low-level network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model) and cryptographic principles (e.g., PKI, symmetric/asymmetric encryption, hashing) to software development tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline. Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• 14+ years in software engineering, testing, or software-focused cyber roles.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with low-level systems programming in Rust.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or Java.
• Familiarity with penetration testing tools and security-focused OSs (e.g., Kali Linux).
• Experience with high-grade network encryptors and cryptographic key distribution systems.
• Background supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or DoD cryptographic engineering initiatives.

Clearance Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
• Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
