Job summary

Synopsys Inc in the United States is seeking a senior cybersecurity leader to build and run a distributed security program across government-focused initiatives. You will guide incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance with CMMC Level 2 while partnering with legal, engineering, and enterprise technology teams.

This role requires hands-on expertise, a track record of mentoring engineers, and the ability to translate complex security tradeoffs to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information security, computer science, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience.
• 3+ years leading teams or programs in security.
• Experience implementing and maintaining security controls for CMMC Level 2.
• Familiarity with NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-171/53 and related standards.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a distributed cybersecurity team for security operations, engineering, vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance support.
• Oversee day-to-day security monitoring and incident response across enterprise systems and infrastructure.
• Manage deployment and improvement of cybersecurity technologies including SIEM, endpoint protection, and cloud tools.
• Lead vulnerability management programs and track corrective actions through closure.
• Coordinate incident response efforts; conduct post-incident reviews and publish root cause analyses.
• Support CMMC Level 2 compliance and other regulatory requirements with maintained controls and documentation.
