Job summary

The University System of Maryland seeks a Cybersecurity & Privacy Technology Manager to strengthen cybersecurity and privacy across its institutions. You will help manage vulnerability and threat response, support technology implementations, guide risk reduction strategies, and assist with incident response and third‑party reviews.

Responsibilities include managing the vulnerability program, supporting cyber projects, incident response, security reviews, and helping establish systemwide ISAC/SOC

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity in at least two of: vulnerability management, threat intelligence/monitoring, security operations, incident response, third‑party reviews, or security tool implementation.

Responsibilities

• Manage USM's Vulnerability and Threat Management Program, monitor ISACs/SOCs, select and operate tools, assist with addressing vulnerabilities across networks, and advise on video surveillance and physical security.
• Provide Cybersecurity and Privacy Technical Program Support: research best practices, identify technical solutions, provide project management, establish vendor relationships, and assist tool implementation.
• Support Incident Response and Security Assurance: provide technical/forensic assistance and perform security reviews of third-party solutions.
