Job summary

University of Maryland Global Campus is seeking a Cybersecurity & Privacy Technology Manager to strengthen cybersecurity and privacy across the USM. You will work with the CISO and partners to manage vulnerability/threat response, implement cybersecurity/privacy technologies, provide risk-reduction guidance, and assist with incident response and third‑party reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or a related field.
• Three years of cybersecurity experience with demonstrated responsibility in at least two areas.
• Experience in vulnerability management, threat intelligence/monitoring, security operations, incident response, third‑party risk, or security tool implementation/operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage USM Vulnerability and Threat Management Program including monitoring ISACs/SOCs and coordinating remediation.
• Select, implement, and operate vulnerability/threat management tools and systems.
• Assist institutions with addressing vulnerabilities across networks, servers, and endpoints.
• Advise on video surveillance and physical security solutions.
• Draft notices and presentations to inform institutions about threats and vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to development and operation of a systemwide ISAC/SOC function.
• Provide technical program support for cybersecurity and privacy projects.
• Establish and maintain vendor relationships for cybersecurity/privacy.
• Assist in selection, implementation, and operation of systemwide cybersecurity/privacy tools.
• Support incident response and security assurance reviews for third-party solutions.
