Job summary

Synapse Tech Services seeks a Cybersecurity Manager to lead enterprise security operations, including SOC activities, monitoring, incident response, and risk remediation. You will design SIEM-based detection, oversee firewalls and VPNs, and ensure regulatory compliance across networks and systems.

Responsibilities include investigations, containment and recovery, and development of security metrics via Power BI. Travel within the U.S. may be required, with relocation as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or computer science or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in security operations or engineering.
  • Experience in SOC, SIEM, vulnerability and threat management, and network security.
  • Experience with FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls and VPNs (Ivanti Pulse Secure).
  • Proven ability to document, report, and audit security activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop security metrics and dashboards using Power BI; report to management.
  • Coordinate security projects using Microsoft Project and JIRA Confluence.
  • Travel or relocate as needed within the U.S.; travel not an inherent function.

Job description

The Cybersecurity Manager will manage and oversee enterprise cybersecurity operations, including Security Operations Center (SOC) activities, security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and threat mitigation. Lead and coordinate investigations, containment, and recovery efforts for cybersecurity incidents. Design, implement, and maintain security monitoring and detection solutions using SIEM platforms. Identify, prioritize, and remediate security risks across networks and systems. Manage and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, VPN (Ivanti Pulse Secure), intrusion detection and prevention systems, secure remote access solutions, and encryption technologies. Oversee network security architecture and configurations, including FortiGate and Palo Alto firewalls and web security platforms. Manage operating system and patch upgrades to address security vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with applicable security frameworks, regulatory requirements, and internal security policies. Support risk management and compliance initiatives through documentation, reporting, and audits. Use reporting and analytics tools, including Microsoft Power BI, to develop security metrics, dashboards, and management reports. Coordinate security projects and operational activities using tools such as Microsoft Project and JIRA Confluence. Must be willing to travel and/or relocate to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.; however, travel is not an inherent function of the position.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or its equivalent.

Experience: 24 months in the job offered or as a Software Engineer.
