Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a cybersecurity engineer specializing in Linux systems engineering to join the Advanced Cyber Initiatives team. The role focuses on maintaining enterprise security apps, deploying on-prem, SaaS, and IaaS solutions, and collaborating with Information Security on deployments.

Qualified candidates have extensive scripting experience, PKI/SSL work, and a background in enterprise security with PCI-DSS/NCUA awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent.
• Extensive automation scripting for server configurations and deployments.
• Extensive patching/upgrading Linux/Windows OSes and enterprise apps.
• Experience with high security systems engineering (PCI-DSS/NCUA).
• Experience with AI/ML deployments in practice.
• Scripting in Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, or Ruby.
• Experience SSO/SAML/OAuth integration.
• Strong Linux or Windows server troubleshooting.
• Experience with change/configuration management and Kanban agile.
• Experience with SIEM tools.
• Knowledge of core network/firewall/routing concepts from server perspective.

Responsibilities

• Maintain IT and security applications and systems.
• Troubleshoot Linux/Windows servers and enterprise apps.
• Deploy and maintain on-prem, SaaS, and IaaS security apps.
• Remediate vulnerabilities and patch systems.
• Configure SaaS enterprise apps.
• Deploy AI and ML/LLM solutions for threats.
• Maintain internal engineering docs.
• Renew TLS certificates on appliances and apps.
• Respond to audits and hardening requests.
• Participate in daily operations and on-call rotation.
