Job description

Consultant Development Program (Fall)

Location: Irvine, CA and Fairfax, VA - DC Local

Start Date: October 5th – December 11th

Program Overview

An immersive paid‑training internship designed to develop technical and professional skills needed to transition into a full‑time Information Security Associate.

Scope: International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
  • Participate in client interviews with subject matter experts to aid data collection.
  • Assist in the creation of templates and procedures supporting ISO compliance and risk solutions.
  • Support report writing and delivery of client reports.
  • Learn about national and international standards, including the ISO 27000 series, ISO 22301, ISO 42001, and others.
  • Assess organizational security postures against ISO 27000 series standards.
  • Help develop an ISO 27001‑compliant Information Security Management System (ISMS).
  • Assist organizations in aligning their ISMS with ISO 27018 and ISO 27701 for PII protection in cloud services.
  • Support development of an ISO 22301‑compliant Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
Role Description

The Developing Consultant (DC) works in a client‑facing consulting team and supports project delivery across Tevora’s Information Security practice areas, including Enterprise Risk, Compliance, Solutions Implementation, and Threat Research. Interns continuously develop skills via personal development and industry participation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop technical and business skills to perform billable work quickly.
  • Learn about industry‑standard certifications and their benefits.
  • Understand national and international standards and frameworks such as PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, and ISO 27001.
  • Observe implementations of Enterprise Security Solutions.
  • Assist with internal and external penetration testing and social engineering projects.
  • Plan technical execution plans to meet business requirements.
  • Gather requirements for execution plans.
  • Execute on designed plans.
  • Document execution procedures and provide professional insights into the involved technologies.
  • Assist Consultants with client engagements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Knowledge of networking concepts: firewalls, routers, switches, DNS.
  • Computer troubleshooting and server systems administration.
  • Basic business planning and accounting.
  • Understanding of compliance frameworks is a plus.

  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Required to work onsite at our Fairfax, VA, or Irvine, CA, location.
