Job summary

Cox Enterprises is seeking Cybersecurity Interns to join our team in Atlanta. Interns will work on real projects that leverage campus knowledge and build professional skills for post-graduation success.

You'll receive mentorship, engage in meaningful work, and gain exposure to senior leaders while developing practical cybersecurity capabilities across governance, risk, and defense initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a related degree program such as Information Technology (with a concentration in Cybersecurity), Computer Science, MIS, or other related degree program.
• Exposure to Cyber Scripting experience (Python, Javascript, etc.).
• Leadership experience and ability to document business/processes.
• Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel experience.

Responsibilities

• Support Cyber Defense initiatives to improve security operations, threat detection and response capabilities.
• Support Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance programs to improve metrics, onboard suppliers securely, and manage data governance.
• Assist with application security reviews to identify and mitigate security and privacy risks.
• Support cloud security through posture management policy tuning.
• Collaborate with DevOps to keep code, infrastructure, and apps secure.
• Contribute to Cyber M&A program to assess new businesses and remediate cyber risks.

Cybersecurity interns at Cox Enterprises are an integral part of the Cyber team and are provided projects and tasks that leverage knowledge gained from their academic studies, as well as challenge and build their interpersonal skills to prepare them for the working world post-graduation.

Projects / assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Support Cyber Defense initiatives that include improvements to security operations and supporting solutions, as well as threat detection and response capabilities
• Support Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance ("GRC") programs to improve the way we collect and action on metrics, onboard new supplier relationships securely, and manage data and privacy governance policies and capabilities
• Assist with application security reviews to identify and mitigate security and privacy risks
• Support cloud security team through development and tuning of posture management policies
• Integrate with DevOps teams to represent cybersecurity and help keep our code, infrastructure, and apps secure
• Contribute to our Cyber M&A program to assess new businesses in which Cox takes an ownership stake and identify and prioritize remediation of cyber risks

USD 24.23 - 36.35 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $24.23 - $36.35/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
