Job summary

Cox Enterprises is seeking Cybersecurity Interns to join the team in a hybrid role with remote work part of the week from the Atlanta area. The position offers growth, mentorship, and real project exposure within Cox's Cyber team.

You will contribute to security initiatives, learn from senior leaders, and build practical security skills across defense, governance, and cloud platforms while supporting ongoing business needs.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program such as Information Technology (Cybersecurity), Computer Science, MIS or related field.
• Preferred experience: Cyber scripting (Python, JavaScript) and basic security concepts.
• Business/process documentation experience and leadership experience are a plus.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Cyber Defense initiatives, including threat detection and response improvements.
• Support Governance, Risk and Compliance programs and security metrics collection.
• Assist with application security reviews to identify risks and mitigations.
• Support cloud security posture management and DevOps collaboration.
• Contribute to the Cyber M&A risk assessment and remediation activities.

Compensation

Hourly base pay rate is $24.23 - $36.35/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Cybersecurity interns at Cox Enterprises are an integral part of the Cyber team and are provided projects and tasks that leverage knowledge gained from their academic studies, as well as challenge and build their interpersonal skills to prepare them for the working world post-graduation.

Projects / assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Support Cyber Defense initiatives that include improvements to security operations and supporting solutions, as well as threat detection and response capabilities


• Support Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance (\"GRC\") programs to improve the way we collect and action on metrics, onboard new supplier relationships securely, and manage data and privacy governance policies and capabilities


• Assist with application security reviews to identify and mitigate security and privacy risks


• Support cloud security team through development and tuning of posture management policies


• Integrate with DevOps teams to represent cybersecurity and help keep our code, infrastructure, and apps secure


• Contribute to our Cyber M&A program to assess new businesses in which Cox takes an ownership stake and identify and prioritize remediation of cyber risks

Qualifications :

Currently enrolled in a related degree program such as Information Technology (with a concentration in Cybersecurity), Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other related degree program.
