Job summary

Textron Systems invites undergraduates pursuing CS, cybersecurity, or related fields to join as an Information Systems Security Intern in Slidell, LA. You will analyze threats, assist with incident handling, and contribute to security improvements alongside experienced professionals.

This paid internship offers mentorship, hands-on projects, and exposure to enterprise security operations, with opportunities to learn and grow within Textron’s security teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Strong academic performance preferred.
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Passion for cybersecurity and information systems.
• Willingness to adapt to changing environments.
• U.S. citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze network traffic, log data, and open-source information to assess threats and recommend countermeasures.
• Assist with collecting, sorting, and routing incoming information for cyber events.
• Track, handle, and report security incidents per procedures.
• Review hardware and software risk assessments.
• Collaborate with security teams to provide solutions based on business needs.
• Protect confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified information.
• Contribute to security awareness and education for users and admins.
• Gather information for incident identification, categorization, and triage in time-sensitive situations.
• Research measures to improve information security procedures and systems.
