RWJBarnabas Health Cybersecurity Internships in New Jersey are designed to provide hands-on exposure to information security operations, including monitoring, investigations, and incident response within a healthcare setting.

Interns will collaborate with security analysts and business partners, gain experience with security policies, and develop reporting and documentation skills while contributing to ongoing security initiatives.

Formación

• Junior or Senior level undergraduates currently enrolled at an accredited college/university.
• Demonstrated interest in Cybersecurity/Information Security via coursework, internships or projects.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.

• Participate in security investigations, intelligence, assurance, awareness and project oversight.
• Maintain records for historical trending analysis.
• Collaborate with technology, information security and business partners.
• Administer and monitor profiles, review violation reports and investigate exceptions.
• Understand security policies and standards.

• Create reports, presentations and spreadsheets.
• Document processes and requirements.
• Assist in root cause analysis for incident management.
• Apply classroom knowledge to RWJBarnabas Health.

A Typical Day

Our Information Security analysts are equipped to prepare, prevent, detect, respond to and recover cybersecurity events.

• Participate in the team's activities such as security investigations, intelligence, assurance, and awareness and/or other project oversight
• Maintains records to allow for historical trending analysis
• Collaborate with technology, information security, and business partners
• Administer and monitor profiles, review violation reports and investigate possible exceptions
• Understanding security policies and standards
• Prepare materials on information security
• Reports, presentations, spreadsheets
• Document processes and requirements
• Assist in root cause analysis for incident management
• Leverage knowledge from the classroom and apply to RWJBarnabas Health

This Role Might Be For You If ..

• The intern will supplement the team by shadowing security analysts and accompanying them to technology meetings/workshops
• They will learn to use systems and data analysis skills to aid in providing state-of-the-art solutions to information security-related matters
• They will have to use written and oral communication skills to generate reports on security vulnerabilities and incidents
• Candidate with Assist in Incident Response activities such as Identification, Classification and Containment of incidents

To Be Considered

Required

• Junior or Senior level undergraduates and higher who are currently enrolled at an accredited college/university
• Students must have a demonstrated interest in the industry and/or specific area of interest in Cybersecurity, Information Security, as exemplified through past work experience, internships and/or major course of study and preferably a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Other Skills and Knowledge: Python, Knowledge of SDLC, SQL, TCP/IP, NIST Framework, ISO Framework, Self-Starter, Windows/Linux/Unix, SOAP, SAML
