Job summary

Peraton in Beltsville, MD is seeking a Cybersecurity Integration Engineer to join our Federal Strategic Cyber Programs. You will assess, test, and integrate cybersecurity tools across enterprise environments.

This role requires hands-on system integration, testing, and deployment experience, with strong knowledge of NIST RMF/FISMA and active security clearances. Hybrid work model with on-site and remote collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; or 3 years with a Master's degree (additional 4 years may substitute).
  • Certification requirement: CAP, CASP+ CE, CCISO, CCNA-Security, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), CND, CSSLP, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, GSLC, Security+ CE, SSCP, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev, or equivalent.
  • Experience in cybersecurity engineering including tool integration and system hardening.
  • Experience with RHEL Linux and Azure DevOps (Git).
  • Hands-on experience with system integration, testing, and deployment in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting cloud environments such as Azure.
  • Networking experience and knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-53, RMF, FISMA).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL; Layer 2/3, routing, and switching in hybrid/cloud/on-prem environments.
  • U.S. citizenship required and active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues using advanced tools (Wireshark, tcpdump, traceroute, Splunk).

Responsibilities

Peraton is currently hiring for an experienced Cybersecurity Integration Engineer to join our Federal Strategic Cyber Programs.

  • Locations: Rosslyn, VA or Beltsville, MD
  • Work Schedule: Hybrid (On-site & Remote)
What You'll Do:
  • Assess, test, and integrate cybersecurity tools to enhance enterprise security operations.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or 3 years with a Master's degree. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Applicants must currently hold one of the following professional certifications or obtain one prior to start date (continued certification required): CAP, CASP+ CE, CCISO, CCNA-Security, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), CND, CSSLP, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, GSLC, Security+ CE, SSCP, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev
  • Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity engineering, including tool integration and system hardening.
  • Experience with RHEL Linux and Azure DevOps (Git).
  • Hands-on experience with system integration, testing, and deployment in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting cloud environments such as Azure.
  • Networking experience.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (NIST 80053, RMF, FISMA).
  • Demonstrated expertise in enterprise networking protocols (TCP/IP, SMB, SFTP, DNS, DHCP, SSL) and understanding of Layer 2/3 architectures, routing, and switching across hybrid cloud and onprem environments.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues using advanced tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump, traceroute, Splunk) across distributed systems and multivendor environments.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with enterprise cybersecurity tools and platforms (e.g., Tenable, Splunk).
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management processes and remediation workflows.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, including network diagrams and configuration guides.
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Strong understanding of system integration, including testing, validation, and deployment of security solutions.
  • Familiarity with NIST cybersecurity frameworks, RMF, and FISMA compliance.
  • Experience supporting vulnerability management programs and integrating scanning tools into enterprise workflows.
  • Knowledge of secure cloud architecture and migration strategies.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and tool integration.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver highquality results in a fastpaced environment.
  • SAFe Agile certification.
  • Experience with cybersecurity programs.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
