Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst for Security Standards & Baselines in a Hybrid role based in Arlington, VA. You will support the SSB section within the TIE Office, drive automation of workflows, and ensure compliance with FISMA, NIST 800-53 Rev. 5, CIS Benchmarks, and DISA STIGs.

The role requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance with potential for Top Secret clearance. Strong communication with leadership and stakeholders is essential, along with mentoring team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Must obtain CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP, Security+ CE, CySA+, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev within start date.
• Experience across FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, CIS Benchmarks, and DISA STIGs.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, and enterprise virtualization.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance (ability to obtain Top Secret).

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst - Security Standards & Baselines to join the Federal Strategic Cyber group. Location: Hybrid position, based in Arlington, VA.

• Support the Security Standards & Baselines (SSB) section within the Technology, Innovation, and Engineering (TIE) Office.
• Identify and implement solutions to enhance, streamline, and automate workflows.
• Leverage a strong technical background across cybersecurity domains, including FISMA compliance, NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5 controls, enterprise application security configuration, CIS Benchmarks, and DISA STIGs.
• Promote security awareness among management and align security principles with organizational goals.
• Communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
• Conduct research, analysis, and documentation of security threat vectors.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to team members.
• Develop bulletins, alerts, advisories, and security configuration baseline documents aligned with policy and best practices.
• Ensure rigorous application of information security and assurance policies and practices.
• Evaluate existing and emerging technologies to develop recommended security configuration baselines using trusted sources (e.g., DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, vendor guidance).
• Respond to technical and policy inquiries with clear guidance and interpretation.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to maintain alignment on cybersecurity standards.
• Streamline processes to improve operational efficiency and support mission objectives.
• Manage information and content within SharePoint repositories.
• Maintain situational awareness of team activities and provide backup support as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; HS + 4 years may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• Must possess or obtain prior to start date at least one of the following certifications (continued certification required): CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, CISSP, Security+ CE, CySA+, PPDA, Agile IC, SNOW App Dev.
• Experience across multiple cybersecurity domains, including FISMA, NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5, CIS Benchmarks, and DISA STIGs.
• Experience developing and executing research plans.
• Experience working with Windows Server in an enterprise environment.
• Experience managing Active Directory in a multi-domain environment.
• Experience with enterprise application or server virtualization.
• Demonstrated customer service excellence and strong business acumen.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Active Secret security clearance (ability to obtain final Top Secret clearance).

• Experience with process automation.
• Experience using AI tools and automation platforms to enhance workflows, analysis, and documentation.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Experience engineering or maintaining database infrastructure (SQL, Oracle).
• Experience with AD FS, Azure AD, or cloud identity services.
• Experience developing or managing virtualized IT systems.
• Networking technologies expertise.
• Experience configuring or administering enterprise mobile device deployments.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux in an enterprise environment.

Target Salary Range

$86,000 – $138,000. Salary is determined by factors including scope, responsibilities, experience, education, location, and contract considerations. May include overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.
