Job summary

NetJets Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Cybersecurity Services team in Columbus. This hands-on role emphasizes building, coding, integrating, and operating security solutions across the enterprise with strong software engineering skills.

The candidate will write code, develop tools, automate security workflows, analyze data, and contribute to secure-by-design initiatives within IT and applications. Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or Information Technology (required)
  • 4-6 years of experience in cybersecurity/engineer roles
  • Hands-on keyboard coding and tooling
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, and automation frameworks
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and secure development
  • Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and secure SDLC practices

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software-based security solutions and tooling.
  • Integrate security platforms via APIs, webhooks, SDKs, and cloud native services.
  • Build dashboards, parsers, and real-time monitoring for security analytics.
  • Prototype and implement new security technologies with a focus on scalability.
  • Conduct social engineering exercises and technical testing to validate controls.
  • Provide deep technical incident response support including forensic analysis.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering to embed secure-by-design principles.
  • Stay current with attacker techniques and translate into code and tooling.

Purpose of Position

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer is a hands-on technical role within the NetJets Cybersecurity Services team, focused on building, coding, integrating, and operating security solutions. This role requires strong software engineering skills, deep technical expertise, and the ability to work hands-on-keyboard to design, develop, automate, and maintain security capabilities across the enterprise.

This position is intended for engineers and developers, not program or project managers. The successful candidate will write code, develop tools, integrate APIs, automate security workflows, analyze large datasets, and build scalable security solutions.

The Senior Cybersecurity Engineer will also participate in practical exercises, including control validation and social engineering exercises to ensure people, process, and technology is in place and working effectively.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software-based security solutions, tools, and automation to support vulnerability management, detection, response, and compliance.

Perform hands-on development and scripting to integrate security platforms using APIs, webhooks, SDKs, and cloud-native services.

Build and maintain custom security tooling, dashboards, parsers, and workflows for real-time monitoring and analytics.

Research, prototype, and implement new security technologies with an emphasis on technical feasibility and scalability.

Perform social engineering exercises to assess risk related to people, processes, and technologies.

Perform technical testing, scanning, and validation of controls using custom scripts and engineering-driven approaches.

Provide deep technical incident response support, including forensic analysis, scripting, and tool development during investigations.

Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to embed secure-by-design principles into applications, services, and infrastructure.

Stay current with modern attack techniques, software vulnerabilities, and defensive engineering patterns, and translate that knowledge into code and tooling.

Experience automating security processes rather than managing them manually.

Solid understanding of application and web security, including OWASP Top 10 and secure development practices.

Ability and willingness to participate in simulated Social Engineering exercises, including delivering Phishing, Vishing, and Smishing simulated practice exercises.

Ability to analyze complex technical problems and engineer practical solutions through code.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interface with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
