Job summary

JRC is a defense contractor in Washington, DC delivering mission-critical cyber and semiconductor solutions for the DoD and government agencies. The Cybersecurity Engineer will design, implement, and maintain enterprise security architectures to protect information systems and data across on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.

You will work with IT, engineering, and business teams to embed security into technology solutions, establish secure baselines, and monitor threats using SIEM, EDR/XDR,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in cybersecurity, IT, CS, or related field.
• 2–5 years of cybersecurity-related experience.
• Experience with Defense Industrial Base is a plus.
• Experience with cloud security platforms and multi-cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise cybersecurity solutions and security architectures.
• Configure and manage security technologies including firewalls, EDR/XDR, SIEM, vulnerability management, and identity security.
• Develop secure configurations and baselines for servers, endpoints, network devices, apps, and cloud environments.
• Implement controls based on risk, standards, and business requirements.
• Evaluate new technologies for security risks and safeguards.
• Support network segmentation, access controls, encryption, authentication, and authorization.
• Assist with secure design of cloud/hybrid infrastructure.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and security reviews.
• Monitor security events, logs, and indicators of compromise.
• Maintain cybersecurity diagrams, configurations, and records.
• Collaborate with IT, infrastructure, and business teams.
