Job summary

Ames National Corporation, based in Ames, IA, seeks an Information Security Officer & Cyber Security Engineer to lead and strengthen our enterprise cybersecurity program. You will report to the CIO and align with the NIST CSF 2.0 to secure critical systems and information assets across our affiliate banks.

This high-impact role requires hands-on security engineering, policy development, and incident response leadership to safeguard our family of community banks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, cybersecurity, CS or related field.
• Minimum four years in information technology or cybersecurity.
• Experience implementing security solutions and infrastructure.
• Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and security testing.
• Experience identifying, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity incidents.
• Strong knowledge of CSF 2.0 and network/system security fundamentals.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and risk-assessment skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead Information Security Committee and coordinate security initiatives across affiliate banks.
• Serve as the primary cybersecurity resource for Ames National Corporation and its affiliate banks.
• Conduct cybersecurity maturity assessments using the NIST CSF 2.0 and drive remediation.
• Design, implement, and maintain security technologies including endpoint protection, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management, and SIEM.
• Monitor security alerts, vulnerabilities, and incidents; coordinate response and remediation.
• Develop and maintain information security policies, procedures, and standards.
• Ensure key security controls like patch management and access controls are in place.
• Stay current on emerging cyber threats and industry trends.
• Collaborate with IT, vendors, and business partners to resolve security issues.
• Provide backup support for system and network administration; participate in governance.
