Job summary

SouthState Bank is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer (CSE) to manage day-to-day security operations and lead investigations of security events. The role emphasizes understanding security best practices and their impact on controls.

The CSE I will respond to tickets, support on-call rotations, and participate in vulnerability assessments, threat monitoring, and deployment improvements while aligning with financial regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years of direct Cybersecurity experience preferred in financial services.
• Associate Degree or equivalent work experience in Information Security or related field.
• GIAC or CompTIA security certifications are preferred: GIAC/GSEC, GCIA, GCED, GCDA; Security+ or CySA+.

Responsibilities

• Review logs from security tools, workstations, servers, and network devices to identify incidents.
• Participate in incident response planning and on-call rotations.
• Assist in vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security audits.
• Maintain configurations of security solutions per baselines and best practices.
• Provide on-call support and end-user assistance for security tools.
