Candidates should also be comfortable troubleshooting servers, workstations, network equipment, firewalls, switches, and wireless access points. Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills are essential. The successful candidate can manage competing priorities, work independently and collaboratively, communicate professionally with clients at all levels, and remain composed in demanding situations. A valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle are required.
Engage with project teams during initiation, requirements gathering, and design to identify risks and incorporate appropriate security controls. Review and help design complex applications and technologies, and evaluate security plans and procedures that protect internal information systems. Recommend and implement improvements aligned with corporate policies, and ensure key risks and issues are addressed in a way that meets business needs. Conduct security risk assessments, document client systems, coordinate with cybersecurity vendors, and review and analyze cybersecurity reports weekly. Translate business and non-functional requirements into security controls, document proposed solutions, and communicate security considerations to stakeholders. Design technical controls that align with NIST SP 800-171 and/or CMMC requirements. Monitor assigned tickets and tasks, provide service or escalate issues when appropriate, and maintain accurate ticket notes and resolutions. Develop project tasks and milestones, follow departmental reporting and change‑control processes, and maintain timely, accurate timesheets and expense reports. Challenge business and IT colleagues constructively when needed to protect the organization and its clients.
