Job summary

HALOCK Security Labs, a Schaumburg-based information security consulting firm, seeks a Consulting Operations Manager to own engagements from start to finish. Remote-first with one day in the Chicago area per week, this role blends project control, capacity planning, and financial rigor to protect margins and client trust.

You will translate SOWs to schedules, coordinate a small billable team, and maintain robust Excel-based financial controls while handling milestone billing and change orders.

Qualifications

• Experience managing projects or operations in a professional services environment.
• Advanced Excel capabilities with formulas, tables, lookups and reconciliation.
• Working knowledge of milestone billing and contract mechanics.
• Experience coordinating schedules and capacity for a small, skilled team.
• Strong client-facing written and verbal communication with sound judgement.
• Cybersecurity literacy covering assessment types, findings and remediation.

Responsibilities

• Own engagements from intake through scheduling, delivery, billing and closeout.
• Translate SOWs into schedules, assignments, milestones and billing triggers.
• Coordinate capacity across a small billable team and manage utilization.
• Maintain Excel-based project controls and financial tracking.
• Lead client communication and resolve delivery or billing issues.
• Identify scope creep and process change orders before work proceeds.
• Oversee testing, findings, reporting and retesting workflows.
