Job summary

Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Cybersecurity Center is seeking a part-time outreach communications specialist to generate student awareness of programs and events in Denver.

You will manage a broad outreach strategy across social media, email, print, and live events, QA materials for brand and tone, identify opportunities with campus partners, and analyze data to improve engagement and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with a wide audience.
• Superb organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize duties; ability to research industry market news and audience trend data using multiple sources.

Responsibilities

• Generate student awareness and interest in The Cybersecurity Center through outreach and communication activities including social media, email, and print communication, presentations, and online events.
• QA all communications materials to ensure alignment with brand, messaging, and tone of voice.
• Identify outreach opportunities by maintaining active communication with other departments at the university.
• Research, collect, and analyze data to help support strategies for outreach and communications practices.
• Collaborate with other departments and cross-analyze data for outreach outcome statistics.
• Maintain and update a list of media contacts and foster relationships with key journalists in the Cybersecurity field both locally and nationally.
• Organize and enable coverage of activities and events and provide media representatives with relevant information.
