Job summary

Workday is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer for the SecAIE team in Reston, VA. You will own the agent, eval, and application work that underpins our Active Defense charter, building schemas, UIs, and integration points for security data.

You will combine Python expertise with AI-augmented development, design reusable components, and collaborate across security, engineering, and governance teams to improve detection, response, and measurement.

Qualifications

• Strong Python skills with hands-on production software experience (APIs, services, monitoring).
• Hands-on experience with LLM/agent systems or AI-augmented development with Copilot or similar.
• Comfort designing/evolving schemas and data contracts and UIs on real data.
• Working knowledge of core cybersecurity practices (identity, secrets handling, secure-by-default configurations).
• Comfortable owning what you ship (runbooks, observability, eval that runs after merge).

Responsibilities

• Own agent-adjacent application work: eval harnesses, agent scaffolds, and UIs used by security partners.
• Design, build, and evolve schemas and data contracts so agents and humans share objects.
• Take partner requests from vague to shipped: scope, propose, choose, and drive through design and rollout.
• Build and maintain integrations across security tools and enterprise platforms (SOAR, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, ticketing).
• Raise the team's AI-augmented engineering floor: reusable scaffolds and code-review discipline.
• Iterate quickly: prototype, test, ship, learn, improve.
