Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned cybersecurity compliance leader in Houston to drive independent measurement of regulatory compliance, implement and operate controls, and coordinate with the cybersecurity architecture team. You will conduct assessments, manage mappings, and prepare audits to close gaps and strengthen assurance across IT/OT initiatives.

The role requires 7+ years in IT audit or cybersecurity compliance, strong regulatory knowledge, and leadership to guide risk-based decisions.

Qualifications

• BS or MA in computer science, information security, cybersecurity or a related field.
• 7+ years of IT audit, cybersecurity assurance, or compliance roles.
• Experience with regulatory environments.
• Control testing and audit execution.
• Working with external auditors and regulators.
• Strong knowledge of cyber security framework and controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent measurement and reporting of cybersecurity compliance.
• Ensure implementation, operations, and delivery of cybersecurity controls.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity architect for compliance.
• Perform continuous assessment and communicate gaps.
• Manage regulatory mappings for business operations.
• Establish compliance and assessment program.
• Manage assurance testing cycle based on criticality and risk.
• Develop and maintain evidence requirements and quality standards.
• Report compliance and effectiveness gaps.
• Manage assurance findings register.
• Prepare and execute internal and external audits.
• Offer evidence governance for audits and regulators.
• Conduct training sessions on compliance awareness.
• Act as focal point for high assurance IT/OT projects.
• Design and execute assurance control testing programs.
• Identify external assessment needs and manage related contracts.
