Job summary

Avalore, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Architect to embed security across the War Data Platform, translating RMF and STIG requirements into concrete architectural patterns. You will own IAM, network zoning, encryption, and logging strategies, working with cross-functional teams to ensure secure-by-design outcomes.

The role requires strong communication, English proficiency, and the ability to work in a United States federal-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Multiple security certifications are expected: CEH, Cloud+, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP for junior roles; CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, or GICSP for senior roles.
• Levels: Junior: 0-3 years + Bachelor's; Journeyman: 4-7 years + Bachelor's; Senior: 8+ years + Bachelor's.
• Strong communication skills; professional proficiency in English.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for embedding security into every layer of the War Data Platform by designing a comprehensive, defense-in-depth security architecture. This person will translate security requirements from the Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and SOC 1 controls into specific, implementable architectural patterns.

They will own the design of the platform's identity and access management (IAM) framework, network security zoning, data encryption strategies (at-rest and in-transit), and logging/monitoring architecture.

The Cybersecurity Architect works proactively with the Platform, Data, and Solutions Architects to ensure the WDP is "secure-by-design," not just secured as an afterthought.

SECRET Security Clearance Required CEH, Cloud+, CySA+, GFACT, GSEC, PenTest+, Security+, or SSCP certification (for Junior / Journeyman roles) CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, or GICSP certification (for Senior role)

Good communication skills, self-starter mindset. Professional proficiency in English is required.

Work Environment: Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment). Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Salary at Avalore is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combinaition of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. Salary estimates for this job range from $107,000 - $220,000.
