S1T in Albany, NY is seeking a Security Analyst to detect threats, assess risk, and strengthen controls across complex IT environments. You will monitor networks, perform vulnerability assessments, and configure firewalls to defend boundaries, while implementing security frameworks for compliance.

Qualifications

• Strong networking fundamentals including LAN/WAN, routing protocols, IPsec VPNs and TCP/IP.
• Experience with identity management and access control (Cisco ISE) and network devices (Cisco, Juniper).
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux families; familiarity with openSUSE or BSD helpful.
• Security engineering knowledge (SELinux, load balancing, HA, DR planning).
• Experience with log analysis and security tools (Splunk, SolarWinds, Nmap).
• Knowledge of PKI, SSO, LDAP; awareness of PCI DSS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security events using SIEM tooling to identify threats.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigations.
• Manage and configure firewalls including Cisco ASA to protect boundaries.
• Implement and maintain security frameworks (ISO 27001/27002, NIST) for compliance.
• Investigate incidents via logs, IDS/IPS, and other tools.
• Support RMF activities including system security plans and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with IT to harden systems and support cloud security across AWS, Azure, GCP.
