Job summary

The City of Cedar Hill seeks a dedicated Cybersecurity Analyst to protect critical City systems and information. Under the IT Director, lead security operations, manage threats, and support compliance across MS 365, AD/Entra, and SIEM/MDR platforms.

You will work with IT staff and public safety personnel to strengthen cybersecurity posture, monitor incidents, and promote security awareness, with a flexible, occasionally remote or hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Provide premier customer service by responding to requests, incidents, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor security events, alerts, and investigations generated by SIEM and MDR platforms; escalate incidents to IT management and external partners when needed.
• Maintain security dashboards, reports, and metrics; coordinate incident response activities and document investigations and remediation efforts.
• Administer and monitor Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID security controls; manage privileged accounts and RBAC.
• Implement authentication controls including MFA and conditional access; support provisioning and deprovisioning processes.
• administer Microsoft 365 security posture and Defender tools; investigate threats and enforce security policies.
• Investigate, respond to, and remediate threats such as phishing, malware, and account compromise; coordinate remediation efforts.
• Manage email security platforms to detect and remediate phishing and impersonation threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation; support audits and risk management initiatives.
• Support CJIS compliance audits, risk assessments, and documentation management.
