Job summary

The Cybersecurity Analyst (Security & AI Governance) at Cogent Communications protects information assets, infrastructure, applications, cloud environments, data, and AI initiatives from cyber threats and misuse. You will work with IT teams, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure security programs align with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in cybersecurity or risk, strong communication skills, and a passion for responsible AI governance,

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in cybersecurity, technology risk, or related disciplines.
• Experience performing risk assessments and policy development.
• Ability to document risks and present recommendations to executives.
• Familiarity with AI governance concepts and AI risk management.
• Proven collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, networks, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled services for threats.
• Perform risk analyses of systems, applications, AI solutions, and business processes.
• Develop and improve cybersecurity and AI governance policies and controls.
• Collaborate with IT, development, and business teams to implement security best practices.
• Support audits, regulatory reporting, and AI governance assessments.
• Maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics for cybersecurity and governance activities.
