Job summary

Apollo Information Systems is seeking a Cybersecurity Advisor II to lead long-term security engagements for diverse clients. You will translate risk into strategic roadmaps, align governance with frameworks, and guide executives in business-focused security decisions.

The role blends advisory leadership with hands-on collaboration across client, assessor, and engineering teams. You will drive multi-year programs, mentor teammates, and stay current with evolving threats and compliance standards

Qualifications

• Cybersecurity experience with client-facing advisory, consulting, or security leadership.
• Ability to translate risk into executive language and roadmaps.
• Experience communicating strategy to executives and boards.
• Travel up to 65% as part of client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Define and advance cybersecurity strategy across multi-month and multi-year engagements.
• Develop prioritized, business-aware security roadmaps that mature client posture.
• Advise on governance, risk, and compliance across NIST CSF 2.0, CIS Controls, ISO 27001, CMMC, HIPAA, PCI DSS.
• Translate technical risk into clear business language for executives and boards.
• Own the advisory relationship for assigned clients, driving cadence and measurable risk reduction.
• Partner with assessors and engineers to ground recommendations in technical reality.
• Guide clients through security program development—policy, process, architecture, tooling strategy.
• Support incident readiness and post-incident program improvement as needed.
• Contribute to Apollo’s advisory methodology and deliverable templates.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the practice.
• Stay current with emerging threats and regulatory changes.
