Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, finance, business or related field.
• 0-5 years underwriting experience.
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles and risk assessment.
• Analytical, negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written, verbal and client-facing communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel up to 20% for client meetings and industry events.
• Hybrid work environment and adherence to underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Curate a portfolio of business adhering to Underwriting Guidelines and pricing tools.
• Evaluate, classify and price risks; set coverage and protection levels.
• Meet annual new and renewal premium goals and maintain hit ratios and retentions.
• Foster relationships with assigned producers.
• Collect information needed to quote/bind an account.
• Prepare and send declinations, quotes, and reminders.
• Demonstrate advanced underwriting principles and market awareness.
• Keep current on market dynamics and product differences.
