Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Cyber Systems Engineer to support the Sentinel program. Based in Annapolis Junction, MD, the CSSE will translate cybersecurity requirements into system designs, guide security architecture, and participate in verification and risk management activities across lifecycle stages.

The role requires an active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Access; MBSE experience and DoD cybersecurity expertise are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science; or 6 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret and Special Access as required.
  • Direct experience in system requirements derivation/flow down/traceability, architecture, design, implementation, integration and test, and/or verification & validation.
  • Direct experience supporting RMF assessment/authorization artifacts per NIST SP 800-37.
  • Experience with MBSE, DoD SDLC, and DoD cyber practices.
  • Knowledge of cyber risk mitigation, security testing methods, and cybersecurity governance.

As a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (CSSE) engineering specialty supporting the Sentinel program. Places of performance for Sentinel include Annapolis Junction MD, Roy UT, San Antonio TX, Redondo Beach CA, Huntsville AL, San Diego CA, and Colorado Springs CO.What You'll Get to Do:A Cybersecurity Systems Engineer (CSSE) will implement weapon system requirements to ensure cyber survivability attributes are implemented in system designs as it assesses/evaluates the customers’/stakeholders’ cybersecurity requirements to decompose, derive, and refine the system’s cybersecurity requirements at all levels to drive the built-in cybersecurity protections to the architecture and design. The CSSE also guides/supports the security layout / architecture and influences the security tools selection and development. The CSSE evaluates/assesses the proposed and realized implementations to identify security risks, attack surface, and verify the cybersecurity protections from the design are realized and integrated. The CSSE guides/supports the development of verification efforts to ensure the cybersecurity protections / capabilities are functional, effective, and complete.
