Job summary

Gannon University is seeking a Cyber System Administrator to support and manage core computing systems, HPC, and the Institute for Health and Cyber Knowledge. The role involves deploying and maintaining physical and virtual servers, storage, and network services to support cybersecurity programs and academic courses.

The position collaborates with academic leadership, supports Open House activities, and drives improvements in security, reliability, and performance per industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or 5+ years of equivalent experience or relevant cybersecurity certifications.
• 2+ years of Linux-based server infrastructure experience in production environments.
• Experience with virtualization, networking, and enterprise storage in academic/research settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administers core systems, Active Directory, SQL databases, cloud computing, patch management.
• Maintains network security infrastructure, firewall rules, NAT policies, and ACLs.
• Manages student lab environments and classroom imaging for courses each semester.
