Applied Signal Technology (AST) is seeking a Software Engineer II in Anaheim Hills, CA, to advance cybersecurity and networking-focused software. The role involves collaborating with experienced R&D staff on system development and deployments to protect national interests.

The position requires a STEM degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience and TS/SCI clearance. Onsite work with travel up to 25% domestically is expected.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience developing in C, C++, Python, and/or Rust.
• Experience with system-level integration and testing of advanced processing systems.
• Experience developing software for APIs, networking, and backend.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Active TS/SCI security clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Experience with cybersecurity tools/controls.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with R&D on system development and deployments for national security.
• Design, code, test, and document software solutions.
• Review software components and systems.
• Generate briefings and present to team, customers, and management.
• Coordinate with project managers and engineering teams.
• Maintain configuration management of software products.
• Travel up to 25% domestically.
