Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Systems Engineer assists the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands by serving within the communication directorate task area. The position’s primary mission involves providing communication support to MARCENT as well as command, control, communications, and computer (C4) policy advocacy to CENTCOM Communications (CCJ6) and HQMC agencies. The Cyber Security Systems Engineer directly supports MARCENT G-6 in the planning, design, implementation, operation and reporting of cyber security systems, including subject matter expertise on cybersecurity processes, to ensure the efficient execution of MARCENT OAMS tasks. The Cyber Security Systems Engineer will perform the following duties:
- Provide services for the planning, design, implementation, operation and reporting of cyber security systems and the Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation of new or existing systems and capabilities.
- Provide technical and operational support including subject matter expertise for accreditation of systems in the Service RMF tool, remediation of vulnerabilities, and training of Military staff in correct cybersecurity processes.
- Review the security configuration of networks, monitoring systems, activating remote terminals as well as tracking and resolving Cyber incident reports and problems related to vulnerabilities.
- Receive, acknowledge, interpret, and respond to CENTCOM Cyber Tasking Orders (CCTOs), Marine Corps Enterprise Network OpDirs and track to completion.
- Develop Cyber Security diagrams that include operation and system level views while executing sound change management processes and assist in developing and executing the Command Cyber Security Training and Education Program.

EDUCATION
- HS diploma or equivalent required.
- MUST possess and maintain professional certification at the DoD IAT II or above level.
Experience
- Minimum ten years of military experience.
- Experience in planning and designing cybersecurity systems, including RMF accreditation and risk management.
- Expertise in providing technical support for system accreditation, vulnerability remediation, and cybersecurity training.
- Experience in interpreting and responding to Cyber Tasking Orders (CCTOs) and managing compliance with operational directives.
Core Skills/Competencies
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to review and enhance security configurations for networks and systems, including tracking and resolving cyber incidents.
- Ability to develop cybersecurity diagrams, manage change processes, and support training and education programs.
- Proficiency in managing and responding to CENTCOM Cyber Tasking Orders and operational directives.
- Competence in developing cybersecurity diagrams, managing change processes, and supporting training programs.
- Advanced proficiency with groupware applications (SharePoint, MS Teams) and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills desired.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Required to sit for extended periods of time and maintain focus.
SPECIAL POSITION NOTATIONS
- Travel is required.
- Qualification as an authorized company driver is required. All authorized company drivers must have a valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s auto insurance provider.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
- A TS/SCI clearance is required for this position.
