CYBER SECURITY SPECIALIST
We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to support our internal and client-facing cybersecurity needs on a part-time basis. This individual will provide subject matter expertise in security risk management, vulnerability assessments, system hardening, and compliance with applicable cybersecurity standards such as NIST 800-53, FISMA, FedRAMP, and DISA STIGs. The role is ideal for a self-starter with a strong technical background who can provide flexible, scalable support to ensure systems and operations remain secure and compliant.

ResponsibilitiesSupport security assessments, audits, and compliance activities for internal systems and government programs.Perform vulnerability scans and assist with remediation planning and execution.Implement and advise on security best practices across cloud and on-prem environments.Assist in developing and maintaining security documentation (e.g., POA&Ms, SSPs, policies, and procedures).Provide guidance on the application of security controls and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP, STIGs).Monitor security logs and participate in incident response as needed.Support Authority to Operate (ATO) and continuous monitoring processes.Other duties as assigned.Education/Certification Required
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).Qualifications Required
Minimum of 3 years of relevant cybersecurity experience.Familiarity with risk management frameworks (RMF), NIST 800-53, and DISA STIGs.Experience conducting vulnerability scans using tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or similar.Strong analytical and written communication skills.Preferred qualifications
Active security certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent).Experience supporting Federal clients or working in regulated environments (DoD, DHS, etc.).Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or OCI) and FedRAMP environments.Clearance Required
