Insight Global is hiring an experienced cybersecurity leader to oversee and mature enterprise defensive security operations.
This individual will lead a large cybersecurity organization responsible for security operations, incident response, threat intelligence, threat hunting, detection engineering, and digital forensics across complex IT environments.
This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance technical expertise with executive-level communication and stakeholder management. The ideal candidate has built or transformed security operations programs, successfully led major cybersecurity incidents, and can drive a shift from reactive security practices to a more proactive, intelligence-driven approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of cybersecurity professionals and front-line leaders responsible for security operations, incident response, threat detection, threat intelligence, and forensics.
- Oversee 24/7 security monitoring and response functions, ensuring timely detection, investigation, containment, and recovery from cyber threats.
- Serve as the primary incident leader during high-impact cybersecurity events, coordinating technical teams, executives, legal partners, and external stakeholders.
- Enhance security operations by improving detection capabilities, investigative processes, automation, and operational rigor.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on accountability, execution, operational metrics, and security program maturity.
- Partner closely with senior leadership to provide clear executive communications and strategic recommendations during security incidents.
- Mentor and develop security teams by elevating technical capabilities and promoting an investigative, threat-focused mindset.
- Collaborate across technology, security, legal, compliance, and business teams to strengthen the organization's overall cyber defense posture.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of cybersecurity experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Experience leading Security Operations Center (SOC) functions and incident response teams.
- Proven success managing major cyber incidents involving network intrusions, insider threats, data breaches, or advanced threat activity.
- Strong background in threat detection, threat hunting, security monitoring, and digital forensics.
- Experience working with SIEM, EDR/XDR, SOAR, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Deep understanding of adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures, including the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Demonstrated experience building, transforming, or maturing cybersecurity operations programs.
- Ability to influence stakeholders, navigate complex environments, and lead through high-pressure situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- CISSP, GIAC (GCIH, GCFA), or similar cybersecurity certifications.
- Experience within critical infrastructure, utilities, energy, or highly regulated environments.
- Experience leading organizational transformation initiatives or cybersecurity consulting engagements.
- Strong executive communication and crisis management experience.
$190k to $210k per year annual salary.
