Cyber Security Legislative Analyst - (7961)
Kwaan Tech is seeking a highly qualified Cyber Security Legislative Analyst to provide Cyber Security Legislative Support Services in support of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Office of Cyber Monitoring and Operations (DS/CTS).
Core Duties:
- Monitor, analyze, and report on cyber security legislative and regulatory trends and initiatives.
- Contribute comments to DS/CTS in response to draft cyber security legislations and regulations.
- Review and prepare briefs on cyber security papers, reports, and presentations of interest to DS/CTS (e.g., draft Federal Adoption of the NIST Cyber Security Framework).
- Review and identify issues of relevance to DS/CTS on reports issued by cyber security working groups, committees, commissions, hearings, etc.
- Report on cyber security news and publications of interest to DS/CTS.
- Responsible for creating and maintaining the Monthly Cyber Legislative Analysis Report which reports on the following:
- All pertinent cyber security legislative and regulatory initiatives.
- Cyber security related committee(s) commission(s) activities, hearings, and reports, highlighting key points and relevance to DS/CTS.
- Legislative staff meetings attended/facilitated, noting key take-aways.
- Analyses of emerging and updated trends and their implications affecting DS/CTS.
- News, reports, and publications of interest to DS/CTS.
- Ad-hoc reports, as requested.
Travel Requirements: 0 - 10%
Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree in business, management science, computer science, information systems, or other related disciplines; law degree preferred.
- At least 12 years of progressive experience in information technology (IT) programs.
- Five (5) years of Federal Agency experience in Information Assurance and/or cyber security programs.
- Possess a legal background with application to Information Assurance and Cyber Security.
- Experience working with Cyber Security working groups, committees, task forces, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to expeditiously review emerging initiatives, assess impact on ongoing programs, and recommend a course of actions.
- Must have an Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance.
