Job summary

State of Michigan is seeking a Security Analyst to join the Incident Response Team, focusing on identifying, analyzing, and responding to security alerts affecting State systems and data. You will investigate threats, contain and eradicate malicious activity, and coordinate remediation to preserve information assets.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 16 semester credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
• Bachelor's degree with 21 semester credits in one of the listed IT/CS fields such as computer science, data processing, networking, information assurance or mathematics.
• Two years of professional experience equivalent to an IT Programmer/Analyst P11 (for certain levels) or substitution options may apply as described in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Identify, analyze, and respond to security alerts and incidents affecting State of Michigan systems and data.
• Investigate potential threats, contain and eradicate malicious activity, and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of State information assets.
